Latest update: 1st October 2007 The Church of Scotland is launching a National Stewardship Campaign which will involve every congregation in the kirk. Two presbyteries, Falkirk (the one to which Cumbernauld Old belongs) and Ardrossan, have been chosen to pilot the scheme For Cumbernauld Old, the process started with a presentation to a joint meeting of the Kirk Session and Congregational Board in August 2007 in the Parish Church. At this meeting we heard what the Stewardship Programme was all about, how it will work in practice and what it will mean for all of us over the next nine or ten months. The next step is to form a committee to take this forward and we are currently looking for volunteers within the congregation to 'sign up' for the various tasks. One member of the committee will be the minister; the others will be responsible for administration, catering, visitor recruitment, presentations, follow-up visits, publicity and chairing the meetings. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday 23rd October and then it will be all systems go! This will be a significant campaign and one that will be repeated in every congregation of the Church of Scotland in the near future. I'm sure we'll be up to the task and we'll keep everyone posted through our intimations, church newsletter and - of course - this website. Previous bulletins:
