Latest News: 12th September 2011
Our
applications for grants from Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery
Fund have both been declined. Sadly, although our applications have
drawn favourable comment, the funds available to organisations are
squeezed and many otherwise-worthy claims like ours have failed to
generate funds.
Nevertheless, we will look again at applying to Historic Scotland in
the next round later in the year and see if that gets a more favourable
response. Meanwhile local fund-raising has proved very successful with
two Fashion Shows proving both to be both enjoyable and financially
profitable; another is already in the pipeline for 2012.
Discussions have continued with the architects and the General Trustees of
the Church of Scotland and we are in continuous discussion with the
Property Committee of Falkirk Presbytery regarding our plans. Once the
funding is in place, it will be all systems go!
Meanwhile, we would like to remind everyone about our "Coffee Jar"
offerings in which we ask people to keep their 'small change' and
donate it to our Project ROCK fund twice a year in June and December.
This usually raises around £500 a year, so let's see if we can make an
extra-special effort to get to the next milestone of £600 when we next
collect the jars in December.
Of course, it doesn't need to be a coffee jar: if you would rather collect
your change in an old ice-cream or butter tub - or indeed other type of container - then so much the better!
A huge thank-you is due to all who make that special effort to support
the Coffee Jar collection in whatever way; it is very much appreciated
and all contributions will be put to good use within the church.

Coffee Jars
If you would like to help the Church raise funds for Project ROCK
here is a simple way to do it – save your small change (usually 1 and 2
pence pieces) and keep them in a empty Coffee Jar.
(However, any jar will do.)
We collect the jars in June and December
and it all helps to make the fund grow.
Thanks to all who contribute this way!
