Latest News: 1st October 2007 The last update printed in the Church Magazine was on 13th May 2007 and that report appears below. The current situation is that discussions about the proposed plans for both the Parish Church and the Manse Outbuilding are ongoing between ourselves, our architects, the Art & Architecture department at the Church of Scotland and the Planning Department at North Lanarkshire Council. With a project of this importance to everyone it is only right that the utmost care is taken and all parties are satisfied with the outcome. We will update this page further when there is something specific to report. 13th May 2007 The Church has appointed aha Architects Ltd from Stirling to carry out a Condition Survey of the Church and a Feasibility Study of the Manse Outbuilding with the aim of creating a small hall. The Condition Survey of the Church covers all aspects of the building such as the roof, walls, windows, electrical wiring, etc. Over the last few weeks different Consultants have been inspecting the building and these people will report their finds back to our Architect. The Architect will then pull all the reports together and produce a final report for the Church. We will then have a comprehensive report on as aspects of the Church building. The Manse Outbuilding is a Feasibility Study; we have a building and the question is what work has to be done to it to create a modern Church Hall. Our only instruction to the Architect is “give us a hall that the Church can use for Sunday School and a separate area for the Thrift Shop”. We await the Architect's ideas. The reports on the two projects will be in our hands and a report will be in a future edition of our church newsletter.
