Church Magazine: Mission Circle (November 2011)

The Mission Circle in the congregation continues to support our Mission Partners, Graham and Sandra Duncan in their work in South Africa. Throughout the years the money we have sent has allowed the Duncans to help many individuals and groups in the struggle against poverty and AIDS. It has paid for such things as AIDS workshops, parties for AIDS orphans and deprived children; food for refugees and urgently needed medical care — and much more.

At present, Sandra is involved with the minister of St. Andrew's Church, Pretoria, Rev Zwai Mtyhobile (who visited the congregation recently) in setting up a soup kitchen for refugees and the homeless in inner city Pretoria. This is a revival of a project set up during the apartheid era which provided a place for all races to meet and eat together called the 'Five Loaves’. Food and devotions will be offered three days a week.
