Church Magazine: Men's Group (November 2011)

This year we started the session with a meal at the Castlecary Hotel - just to confuse everyone! So far we have had extremely interesting speakers on widely varying subjects from the Church of Scotland Youth Assembly (Claire Dalling) to the Glasgow Foundry Boys (Jimmy Rexter) and, as we go to press, the audio / visual sequences (from Andy Pearson).

We've also been ten-pin bowling and visited the Hamilton Toy Museum - in Callander - a real trip down memory lane for us all. Add to that mix our upcoming traditional Christmas Meal and then the wonderful Burns` Supper plus more guest speakers and visits to Rough Castle and Stanley Mills and going "Doon the Watter” on the Waverley for our end of session meal in June - surely there's something for you there? You won't find out unless you take the plunge and join us!

The programme until February 2012 is as follows:
November 24 (Thursday) Visit to Stewarts, Loanhead
December 7 Christmas Meal
January 11 2012Guest Speaker: Lynne Reid - Chest, Heart & Stroke, Scotland
January 25Event: Burns' Supper
February 8Guest Speaker: Sandra Clements - Cumbernauld Action Care for the Elderly
February 22Visit to Tullibardine at Blackford

Please do come along and join us - we meet in the Laird's Loft on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 pm (unless otherwise indicated) and we start with a cuppa, so that will show you how informal we are. Timings for the outings and the Burns Supper will be in the Church News or you can find them on the church website.

Please consider this as your personal invitation – we sincerely hope to see you there!
