Church Magazine: Ladies' Group (November 2011)

Our group meets every second Thursday and this year the session started with a Communion Service led by Catriona, our Minister. Our AGM was next and we are grateful to Christine who manages our funds and produces an excellent balance sheet.

On 22 September, at our meeting, Robert and John showed us wonderful slides of the Western Isles and St. Kilda, Robert also giving an interesting talk about each photograph. Linda Anderson from Age Scotland, followed on 11 October, giving us valuable information about this Charity.

On 20 October our own Donald Morrison entertained us. Telling of his life and family, he also showed very interesting slides. He brought a spirituality to our meeting, which was very uplifting.

On 3rd November Jacky and Sheena provided great entertainment. Sheena accompanied Jacky’s singing on her keyboard, harmonising together. Jacky also gave very amusing readings and had us sing their words to the tune of "Jesus Loves Me."

We are off to the Kings Theatre on 8th November to see the musical "South Pacific”. Then, on 1st December, Ann Birnie will give a Christmas Floral Art demonstration and our year will end with a Christmas Meal at Castlecary Hotel on 8th December.

Next year, we restart on January 5th with a Beetle Drive and we extend a warm welcome to all ladies to join us. With the help of Joyce and Kath, preparation of the syllabus for 2012 is well underway. We all miss you, Moira, our leader, very much and send our prayers and good wishes to you.

Moira, Christine and Margaret
