On 5th October we welcomed our members,
'old' and 'new' to the opening night. On 19th October, Mary and Matt
Knox from the Colporter Society visited the group all the way from
Greenock. Mary has been visiting our Circle for 28 years and both of
them are a lovely Christian couple who have, for years, visited
various different areas of Scotland with Bibles, books, gifts for all
occasions and their mission is “A Bible in every house." As a
result of their visit we have a great choice of gifts such as
calendars, cards, diaries, etc. It is always lovely to listen to her
and we had a nice evening and we all enjoyed our fish suppers! Mary
opened our meeting with a prayer and closed it with a Bible Reading.
We are looking forward to our Communion
Service with our Minister, Catriona and then we will have our usual
'bring and buy' sale and a visit from our very own Anne Walker; we're
looking forward to hearing her Scottish Stories. On 30th November
we'll be celebrating St. Andrew’s night, then in December we have
the Salvation Army, who take a lovely service to celebrate the life
of Baby Jesus. We hope to have a Christmas lunch some time in
December. There will be a break from 14 December until 11 January,
except for our long awaited visit to the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow.
We meet every Wednesday in the Forge
Community Centre at 7.30 pm and will be delighted to see anyone who
would care to come along and join in our fellowship. For further
information please contact Jean Stewart.
