| Church Magazine: Project ROCK (May 2010) |
The work on the project is continuing with the architect and other specialist contractors updating their costs shown in the ROCK Feasibility Report that was completed in early 2008. It is envisaged that these revised costs will be available to allow me to include them in the resubmission of the grant applications to Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland at the end of August 2010.
These applications are for the work on the church as neither organisation is able to support the work on the outbuildings part of the project. Other grants-awarding agencies are being sought to provide funding for this part of the project.
On the brighter front, there were two fund raising events held in April. On the 25th of that month Evelyn Murray and Irene Whyte organised a Ladies Fashion Show at the Westerwood Hotel, which raised over £2000. And then on the 28th Ivy Fletcher organised a Silent Auction in the church, which raised over £380. I would like to thank both event organisers and helpers for their time and effort, and to thank attendees for to making both events a fantastic success.
