We started our new session at the end of August 2009 and have two new members already. Unfortunately we had to cancel our sponsored walk due to bad weather but we hope to have it some time in the Spring. I would like to thank all the children and parents who collected money in advance for this, and to assure them that the money is being held separately till we have the walk and these children and parents won’t be asked to collect money again!

During December our Nativity Play went well and our Christmas Party / Disco was enjoyed by everyone. We look forward to our annual Family Picnic. Last year we had the picnic at Palacerigg and it was a great success, so we will probably repeat that venue.

After the recent earthquake in Haiti we had a discussion with the children and they very kindly decided to give £50 from their fund-raising money to Mary’s Meals. This is a charity which operates in Haiti (as well as other poor areas) and to which the “J” Team has made previous donations.

We hope to let parents know soon about the arrangements for the sponsored walk, the family picnic and the June prize-giving date.
