| Church Magazine: 350th Anniversary |
1659 - 350 - 2009
It's hard to believe, but we are already fast approaching the end of our special year!
Three special events down - three more to go.
The year began with that memorable service centred around "Living Stones" in January; we had our birthday party service in June with all those beautiful cards on display and last week we were treated to a concert by the Cumbernauld Male Voice Choir.
All of these have been very well attended and the members of the anniversary committee are most grateful to everyone for the support given to our birthday events.
We have three more to go and we sincerely hope that you will give these your continued support. Over the weekend of the 14th & 15th November, the Men's Group are mounting a display called 'All Our Yesterdays' in the church, when old photographs and other memorabilia will be on show. Please come along and find out more about the history of our wee Kirk! You might even spot someone you know in the photographs!
Our third and final Service of Thanksgiving for 350 years of worship will take place in the church on the evening of Sunday 29th November at 6.30pm. This will be a candlelight service followed by tea and shortbread. As this is our last celebratory service of the year, we are hoping for a great turn out so please put the date in your diary and come along to this very special evening service on the 29th.
And finally... (as the saying goes!) On Friday 11th December the 'Friends of Cumbernauld Rostrum Club' are holding a charity dinner in the Roadside hall, the proceeds of which are being presented to the Old Parish as a birthday gift. Tickets, priced £6, are in short supply so please pass your name to me or any of the Office Bearers if you would like to attend the dinner.
Thank you all for your continued support.
