Following on from the success of Connect 07 last year a number of churches in Cumbernauld, including our own, are joining for another series of community events in September.
Having decided that this community outreach will be an ongoing mission for our churches it has been re-branded as simply Connect.
.
We welcome back the Scottish Bible Society's Bibleworld exhibition to Cumbernauld during the first week of September. This will be situated in the Phase 4 car park and will be visited by children from local primary schools during the day. It will be open to the public on Thursday 4th September between 7 and 8.30pm.
The week of Connect events is launched on Friday 5th September with a united Dedication Service in the Muirfield Community Centre, Seafar. The worship starts at 7.00pm.
Then on Saturday 6th there will be a Fun Day in Cumbernauld College car park with stalls, games, competitions and basically lots of FUN stuff. Last year's Fun Day was a great success and it would be good if we could get a repeat in 2008.
During the following week there will be events such as a Kids Fun Night and a Choral Night; also a Community Action Day in Carbrain; at least one Movie night and a Health & Fitness evening. We will be offering guided tours of the Old Parish Church on Thursday 11th September at 7.30pm (with Jim Walker giving a talk on the history of our historic building) as well as participating in this year's Doors Open Days on Sunday 14th September between 2pm and 4pm.
The week rounds off with Plaza Praise also on Sunday 14th September; that will be hosted by Abronhill Parish Church.
Once the dust has settled and everyone has gathered their breath there will be a Service of Celebration on Saturday 20th September hosted by Broadwood Baptist Church. All are invited to join in the celebration at this service in Eastfield Primary School.
